Light Modulator. 2017

Light Modulator

was presented in Tent Gallery, as a first response to the field trip to Forsinard in the Art, Space and Nature MFA programme. It looks to use architecture to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The red colour of the transparent tetrahedron filters a diverse amount of electromagnetic frequencies that are not part of the red spectrum. The purpose of the use of colour is to lower the temperature of an enclosed environment by the use of colour. Whilst heat-producing frequencies are left outside, photosynthetic frequencies are used to maintain a living specimen of sphagnum moss.
